Trump Wants Immigrants on U.S. Soil to Hand Over Social Media Accounts to Apply for Citizenship
Trump is demanding social media handles for citizenship, green card, and visa applicants whether they’re already in the U.S. or not.
President Donald Trump’s administration wants to force people in the U.S. applying for green cards or citizenship to fork over their social media handles, in a move with far-reaching implications as the government cracks down on pro-Palestine activists.

Here is a relevant blog comment:
“This policy raises serious concerns about privacy, freedom of speech, and potential discrimination. It’s unclear how social media activity will be used in the decision-making process for granting citizenship, green cards, or visas. There’s a risk that individuals could be unfairly judged based on their online activity or political beliefs. Furthermore, this policy could have a chilling effect on free speech, as individuals may self-censor out of fear that their social media activity could negatively impact their immigration status. The implications of this policy should be carefully considered and discussed before it is implemented.”
